LOT Polish Airlines and easyJet also return to Ljubljana Airport
Nine airlines have already returned to Ljubljana Airport after the end of the covid-19 pandemic. End of July easyJet has renewed its flights to Berlin and London Gatwick, being the third low-cost airline that has reestablished flights from Slovenia. The most recent to bring back flights is LOT Polish Airlines, which has returned its connection to Warsaw.
Air France re-connects Slovenia with Paris
The revival of traffic at Ljubljana Airport continues. Air France is the sixth scheduled carrier to return to our airport. Slovenian and the French capital will initially be connected twice a week; flight frequencies will gradually increase.
Hello, Air Serbia
Today, after months of calm, we finally welcomed the first regular passenger flight. Air Serbia is the first airline to re-establish scheduled flights after the epidemic. They will initially fly between Belgrade and Ljubljana Airport twice a week and then adjust the frequency to actual demand.
Preventive measures at the airport
The airport is ready to welcome passengers safely, and ensure a safe workplace for employees. With the resumption of air traffic, the airport has adopted new preventive measures for passengers and employee guidelines in order to reduce the possibility of infection.
Important notice: From 12 May without air traffic restrictions
On 12 May 2020 the Government of the Republic of Slovenia is withdrawing measures that were restricting air transport in Slovenia. It has assessed that this measure is no longer necessary.
Air passengers' rights and steps with flight ticket changes due to the coronavirus epidemic
As a consequence of the covid-19 pandemic air traffic in Europe and all over the world has been severely limited. Ljubljana Airport has been opened again for passenger flights from May 12, since the government has lifted the ban on commercial air traffic.
From Ljubljana Airport soon to Madrid, Kiev and Tel Aviv
In the Summer Timetable, which will come into effect on March 29, 2020, the offer of flights from Ljubljana Airport is to be substantially expanded. Currently twelve regular air carriers will be joined by at least five during the summer season: British Airways with flights to London Heathrow, Finnair to Helsinki, Israir Airlines to Tel Aviv, Windrose to Kiev and Iberia to Madrid. Some connections will be strengthened by operating bigger airplanes or adding frequencies. Passengers will be able to choose from more than 160 weekly flights to 22 destinations in 15 countries. The volume of charter flights will be comparable to last year's, eight airlines will take passengers to 21 summer holiday destinations.
New resolution on the development of transport infrastructure in the vicinity of the Ljubljana Airport
Zgornji Brnik, 27 Feb. 2020 – Fraport Slovenija has introduced a resolution on the development of transport infrastructure in the vicinity of the Ljubljana Airport. The resolution has received support from all six of the neighbouring municipalities in the Gorenjska region.
1.72 million passengers and infrastructure investments in 2019
The year 2019 at the Ljubljana Airport was marked by major changes in traffic structure and extensive investments in airport infrastructure, including breaking ground on the new terminal. We ended 2019 at 1,721,355 passengers, which is down five percent on 2018.
