Fraport Slovenija successfully renewed the Airport Health Accreditation

24. 3. 2022

After an evaluation process, Airport Council International has recognized the continuation of Ljubljana Airport's efforts to provide a safe airport experience for all travellers and awarded us with maintaining our accreditation in the Airport Health Accreditation programme.

The ACI Airport Health Accreditation (AHA) programme provides an assessment of the conditions and organisational measures that ensure a safe airport experience in line with the health recommendations set out by the air traffic restart and recovery guidelines. The programme tells users that accredited airports are safe, and are taking every precautionary measure to reduce the risks to public health. It was developed on the basis of best practice, in line with the ICAO’s CART take-off recommendations.

Fraport Slovenija has acquired the accreditation on March 25, 2021, and now it is valid for the next 12 months.

»Ljubljana Airport is committed to fulfilling world renowned standards for providing and retaining the health and safety of its passengers and the entire airport community. Our continuing efforts in this area have been recognized by maintaining the ACI Airport Health Accreditation. Keeping the measurements sets us as an example in the aviation industry and contributes to reviving our industry, as ensuring a safe environment helps to restore the confidence of passengers in travel," said Dr. Babett Stapel, Managing Director of Fraport Slovenija.

Fraport Slovenija aims to provide a safe airport environment with all the mentioned measurements. We estimate that increasing travel demand will help us double the passenger traffic in 2022 compared to 2021 at Ljubljana Airport. Due to the verification of entry conditions in the country of destination planning their journey poses an additional challenge for passengers, as most of the countries are maintaining Covid-19 measurements at least to some extent. To make their preparations and start of their journey as pleasant as possible, Fraport Slovenija and SafeScore (an Irish company) have introduced a widget to help passengers with live information on all current Covid-19 travel limitations.

The widget is available on the airport’s website. It offers information by destination on testing, quarantine, vaccinations and additional information travellers should know when planning their journey.
